co-founder of Lemon Media Company

As part of our ongoing effort to spotlight inspiring startup journeys from the community, this week we spoke to the founders of Lemon Media Company, Nayanika and Kaashni, to learn more about their journey, vision, and what lies ahead. Ahead, read more experts from our exclusive conversation with the founders of Lemon Media Company:

Please share with us about your background, your journey and how Lemon Media Company came to be?

Nayanika: My journey started much earlier. I have worked in graphic design, digital marketing and production, starting in 2016. When COVID struck and everything went online in 2020, I knew this was the time to leverage my skills for something greater.

That’s when Kaashni and I decided to co-found Lemon Media Company — to aid brands in connecting with their audiences. It came to me that brands needed more than just numbers and clicks: they required storytelling and real engagement.

Kaashni: With my background in PR and managing teams, it fit perfectly. We were aware that we had complementary skill sets and we wanted to build something genuine. That’s how it all started: the vision of Lemon Media Company was bridging brands and audiences, facilitating powerful and authentic communication.

What sets Lemon Media Company apart in such a competitive market?

Nayanika: Our advantage comes from our comprehensive in-house model. We do not outsource any part of our process. Everything—from production, photography to videography, web development, branding, paid advertising, SEO, and social media management—is handled by our own team. This allows us to maintain complete control over both quality and timelines.

Kaashni: Absolutely. It also guarantees a smooth experience for the client, from the initial concept to final execution. This is something our clients greatly appreciate, which has contributed to the formation of strong, enduring relationships. We continually refine our campaigns based on real-time data, ensuring everything remains in sync with the client’s vision.

How do you maintain innovation and creativity within your team?

Kaashni: We foster an environment that promotes teamwork and creativity. Our brainstorming sessions function as open discussions where anyone can share their thoughts. We appreciate a variety of viewpoints and we keep our work vibrant and engaging.

Nayanika: We also assemble our teams according to the requirements of the project — designers, photographers, videographers, and developers collaborate from the outset. This ensures that every element of the campaign is cohesive and aligned with the overall vision.

Client retention is crucial. What’s your strategy for keeping and attracting them?

Kaashni: We focus on building strong relationships and maintaining consistency. Trust is our priority, and we aim to provide value while fostering clear communication. This approach has allowed us to gain repeated clients and draw in new ones through recommendations and word-of-mouth.

Nayanika: Additionally, we keep an eye on future marketing. It’s moving toward personalisation, authenticity, and community engagement. Consumers are seeking transparency. Technologies such as AI, AR, and VR are set to be transformative, and we are committed to being at the forefront of these changes.

What sort of challenges have you faced running Lemon Media Company?

Kaashni: Managing a business involves juggling various roles — creative, operational, and financial. Balancing all these responsibilities has been my biggest challenge.

Nayanika: For me, the difficulty has been collaborating with Gen-Z clients. They are incredibly creative and perfectly suited for our industry, but maintaining professionalism can occasionally be tough. We’ve found ways to bridge that divide by harnessing their creativity while ensuring projects remain organised.

What’s your vision going forward?

Nayanika: We aim to expand, collaborate with larger brands and broaden our team. However, our foundation will continue to focus on storytelling, authenticity, and engagement.

Kaashni: Yes, we want to keep innovating while staying true to what sets us apart. This is just the beginning for us

What would be your advice for aspiring young women entrepreneurs?

Kaashni: Take on challenges. Believe in your vision and pursue it with complete dedication. Success comes from staying committed, working hard, and staying true to what you want.
